steamcleaning enginebay
Right then, I'm going to do some work on my Jeep soon and I want to clean the enginebay/engine prior to opening the engine up.
A pressurewasher didn't seem such a good idea but how about getting to work with a steamcleaner? Hardly any water is used and I'm pretty sure it will blow all the crud of my engine....?
What says you?

A proper STEAM cleaner will do wonders where a pressure cleaner won't be anywhere near as good.
I've never bothered with doing anything prior to steam cleaning been lucky and had no problems, other than the odd dizzie cap having moisture inside.

Cover up things like distributor/air intake/alternator with a bag and you should be ok, don't direct it straight at electrical things like fuse boxes/ign leads etc and it should be alright! It is a 4x4 so should be more resilient to water ingress than any other car i would have thought?
