More than likely the cradle bushes, powerflex do replacements or you can get alloy ones off ebay. I think it is possible to do them of you drop the back of the box down.

give Paul Crow a PM 'FordRallyCar' as he often has a set or 2 thats just been machined and ready to go at a very good price.

thats if you want the solid alloy ones.

The gear change linkage fits into a knuckle just before it goes into the gearbox, and is held in by a captured pin, the hole is this ovals in time causing the slop. Ford call it a spider for some reason but you could buy it from them as a seperate part - think its about Ł20

What are the culprits for sloppy gear change other than worn cradle bushes? I took my box out of the car and standard cradle bushes were shot. Gear stick is a bit sloppy and also it's especially hard to change from 1st to 2nd when engine is cold. I haven't changed the oils or anything but from 1st to 2nd seems to be hard, it changes easier when giving some gas so I guess there reason for that is synchro? Is there any other things that I should replace than the bushes, the ball joint, selector fork, can they be still purchased and do they worn usually?

Don't suppose anyone knows this part number or if it is still available, do they?

I am pretty sure that my oppliger quick shift came with one, brand new. Might be worth contacting Romain oppliger via his website. You may need to send more than one message to him.

2nd vote from me for Ford Rally car's alloy cradle bushes firms up the feel of the stick nicely

or the nut has come loose at the bottom of the stick

you "can" get your hand up there with the back of the box dropped but it's such a pain in the arse to line things back up again you are really better off dropping the box out, taking 5 minutes to swap stuff over and then putting the box back in again

rather than 5 hours fiddle fucking about with your hand not knowing what it's doing
