Found a small treasure today...
At work, we are doing a few office moves, some are shutting, relocating etc.
Doing the final tour of the building, I saw a safe under one of the desks. The building is being passed over to the new occupants in the next few weeks, and I was the last in there.
It had been left for aaaages, as no-one had the key for it and probably it was full of old receipts etc anyway.
But I decided to break it open. Found a crowbar, hammer, screwdriver, etc. It was only one of the small safes, maybe raised 2" off the floor.
Managed to crowbar it off the floor and it came loose. Result!
Shook it, definitely something in there...
I then went about attacking it with the said crowbar, screwdriver and hammer.
After a lot of noise, pain, sweat, I found 5 books and 5 envelopes.
The envelopes contained over £1,300 in cash!!!!
They were dated back to early 2007 so definitely forgot about, but they had peoples names and addresses on (I work for a housing association in I.T.)
So..
What do you think I did, and what would you people have done?
Bearing in mind, no-one knew I had managed to open it OR knew what was inside........

Yep, I gathered it all up and sent an email to said manager of that department copying in a few others and listed what I found.
It would have been like stealing someones lottery ticket and then winning I guess.
Wouldn't have felt right spending it..
Need some bits doing on the Golf as well

so you emailed the manager telling him you "found" £1300 did you you include the bit where you broke into the safe to find it?
if you gave it back your a mug tbh honest because someone higher up will pocket it
