Check out the mess of this E36 (edited) after a crash at the ring!

Testing the future
that was fucking dangerous
can't believe that there was no warning along the straight before the corner. it's normal practice on the road in germany to put a warning triangle around the corner if you have an accident (i should know )
big speed at that point on a track day with no ticket barrier to halt you along the main straight, so not surprised at the size of the accident. a roll cage can make things worse though, especially if flipping over as it stiffens the whole thing up and doesn't allow the energy to dissipate in deforming the structure.

I was amazed there were no cones to seperate slow cars filtering on from the cars coming down the straight flat out, never been like that when I have been there.
Speed differential could have been massive as that BMW could easily have been doing well over a buck fifty on the full straight!

When we were there last, the day after tourist action, the VLN series (if thats what it is called) were practicing. I don't recall many cones out, if ANY at the exit of the tolls. However, a reasonable car will easily be at over 100mph by the time start the left bend after the start bridge.
I did watch the whole vid, however, can't recall if we can confirm that cars were actually entering the track from the touris/VLN car park? They have a couple of extra entrances for industry and races.
Cheers
