Default Vauxhall vivaro HELP

i have just purchased a vauxhall vivaro and i can honestly say iv never had so much trouble with a van, the glow plug light/management light keeps flashing on and then looses power also some times it pulls well other times its very slugish, iv had it plugged in and it says its the accelerater pedel so i changed that and still nothing so plugged it back in again same code, been on the net searching and found these vans are full of trouble.

changed the EGR valve as thats cured a few peoples problem, plugged it in, same code, so far iv spent £250 and still no joy and as with most garages if it doesnt show a code its difficult to diagnose, its also had a new fuel filter.

any ideas

Pete

IIRC, boost control valves and MAF sensors are the usual culprits. The MAF would make it very slow with no boost until realy late in the rev range.

sounds similar to my brother in laws problem on the reno version - 2 of the injectors were fucked and was a nightmare job; could not get the injectors out!

also: look out for clutch problems (normally slave but sometimes master cyclinder) and the most costly is a new gearbox - these are notoriously bad

can you not do the paper clip test and save you self loads ????

thats a free check if you know how to do it and if its possible to do it.

all we need is S1 RST on here to clarify it lol.

my local vauxhall specialist/breakers have the vauxhall machine and charge 20 quid which is a lot cheeper than the £80 plus vat the robbers down the vx main dealers want.

tbh vx's are a pain in the rse for management lights and its not uncommon to have a good driving motor with a light or 2 on and then someone removes the fookin light.

i always check the lights are working before cranking incase someones pulled the dash and bulbs out.
