So does that mean it's still technically on the register then, even though it's been fixed into a cossie now?

Bargain at 10500 IMHO!

He mentions its a Cat D in the advert
The shell was converted by AG motorsport using a very light damage cat d 1.8 focus.
It was then modified slightly to accept a cosworth engine
Had to at that bit though.

"slightly"

Fair dooz it was just a general question as i wasn't sure if the Cat D still applied or not (never crashed a car before) after the mods were done. Looks like a nice car, cosworth appeal but modern and without the rust

Nice car!!

Would be looking at something like this if my car sells this week

But then again if i'm gonna speng this much money on something cosworth powered i'd prob want an escos so I wouldn't be as worried about depreciation

Yeah...like they're selling for what they're worth

You spend Ł10.5k on an Escos, you get a dog. At least with a FoCos you get something relatively new that's rare and sought after

Buy it then! Swap the Focus RS for it, worth the same....but you get a lot more car if you do. Finish what you started, despite having nothing much left to do. Its got a Cossie engine and its a proper RS shell...its a proper RS!

Just to ad with this car its full quarters that are fiberglass but they are perfect in every way they were supplied by m sport the same quarters that were made for the launch of the focus rs for the motorshows.. So i wouldnt let that put you off when i had it it hadnt cracked or that & that was 5 years ago. They had been on the shell for a few year before that

It does look nice in the add, but ill never understand why someone would start a project like this with a cat d shell, then throw bucket loads of cash at it. Surely it would be better and not cost much more money to start with a clean straight shell.

My point is, i dont see the point in using a damaged cat d shell when for a bit extra you could use a straight clear car, that will always be worth much more.

What does it matter if the shell is damaged its getting cut up anyway so its never going to be original again. Plus the fact when this shell was built it was 5 or just over years ago the mk1 focus 3 doors were fetching very good money at the time too much to buy & cut up plus throw the full interior away as well.So cat d car's were perfect.

Wise words from the man above, makes a lot of sense. No second guessing which would be worth the most in future between a Focus Cossie and a FRS

Fair point if it was built all that time ago mate, as im sure it would have saved lots of money back then. Im just looking at it here and now, and for probably Ł500 (ish) more you could do the same with a clear shell. Still, if you want one, then im sure many people wont be bothered as theres not exactly loads to choose from.
