Default Help! Rev counter not working and battery light!

Hi guys,

Took my fiesta RS Turbo out last night after a week of it sitting and the rev counter isnt working, however the speedo is working flawlessly. Now then, the battery light is on constantly but is very dim. Whenever i brake it goes bright. If i brake my front heated windscreen button light goes out, if i let go it comes back on....

None of the other dash lights work but the actually lights and brakes work fine.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Speedo works by cable so that wont have anything to do with a battery prob. Is all the earth's right on the engine?

check the conection from your alternator to the battery, see what condition thats in, my rs did that and was fine after i sorted it.

rev counter could be something fuse or wirning related, or could be the dash wirning.

right,

quick update, when i start the car in the morning or after about 10mins of it being off the battery light is no longer on. However, if i put my foot down hard the battery light then comes on and stays on.

Have you checked what the alternator is doing ? Is the battery doing flat ?,and really I would check the plug on the back of the clocks. The car I mentioned previously was up for sale when this happened and a guy came to look at it and said the alternator was goosed and so were some of the electrics. The rev counter only worked if revved really hard, the fuel gauge worked intermittently, the battery light didn't work until you revved it and then it stayed on the front fogs didnt work and the tick over was all over the place,Its worth checking the plug imo and its free It took me 5mins to fix.
