I went the dentist and he gave me a filling because of an ache I had. The only way I could stop the pain was to hold cold water in my mouth. I went back after the filling as I was still in agony. He filled another one and I was soon back in agony. After about the 5th appointment when he said 'I'll fill the front one here and the back left on there' in a manner as though he was just doing it, I said I'd leave it and went to my local emergency dental service to where I was told one tooth needed a root canal, and the two he was about to fill were fine.
It's been fine ever since. She said she couldn't slag off a fellow Dentist, but would smooth off all the fillings he did as they were rough as toast. She also couldn't understand how he missed the root canal.
Benni.

I have a fair bit. Some have been replaced and now I'm 39. The replacements are a kevlar composite apparently. No more silver crap in my mouth.

Loads, smashed my mouth up as a kid and chipped a few (they run mega BHP now )
Think ive got 4 fillings, 2 teeth have had to come out due to the wear and tear from smashing them in (they were filled befotre now) and I am looking at having another out tomorrow.

I have always had bad teeth, not through not looking after them just unlucky i suppose.
Been having work done all my life, at 17 i had to have a Crown on one of my front teeth.
Was good for 6 and a 1/2 yrs with just a few small fillings etc
Then had a few major problems where had to have 5 teeth removed, stoped going dentist for 1 yr as was sick of the surgery every time, decided to go back and ended up with jokers, took another 1 yr to find a good dentist (ended up private) as thought it was time to get them sorted.
In the last 4 months i have had:
6 small x-rays
scale and polish
Amalgam Filling 1 surface LR7
Amalgam Filling 2 surfaces UR6, UL4+5
Amalgam Filling 3 surfaces UR4+5, UL6
Composit Filling 2 surfaces LL4
Anterior composit filling LR7
Soft tissue extraction UL7 (that was nice)
Premolar root canal treatment
Clinical Examination
£631 worth there
Plus got to have a £650 operation as when the Crown was done nearly 11yrs ago it was infected and i got a large cyst above it that no destist noticed until this latest one.
Think i win this one

Had my first filling last week and I'm 40, had not been to the denist for over 25 years, so was very pleased when they said I only need the 1 filling. Never had my wisdom teeth come through either.
I was bricking it, but it went really well and wasn't that horrible at all, apart from the price

32 with no fillings, but when your teeth are made of plastic you dont tend to need them lol. Serious dentist phobia for best part of 11yrs, major gum disease, childhood guzzling fizzy etc and apparently smoking had something to do with it, not a good combination. After numerous abcesses and a lot of pain, ended up seeing a dentist, to be told back teeth were shot, fronts were saveable but decision was taken to have total clearance. 3 hours in theatre, was done in hospital, 38 stitches, wasn't just visible teeth having to be pulled, 2 adult teeth stuck up in my gum cos never came thru, they had to be cut out, was agony. Now have a full set of dentures, would have loved to have had implants done but couldn't afford it, no more pain tho. This was all done 4yrs ago, only time I go to the dentist now is to get a new set of gnashers. lol.

I'm 37 and got fookin' loads.
Had to get 16 just before i got married Half of them were to replace existing fillings tho.
Got my teeth whitened last year. Expensive, but what a difference.
