E85 - What's The Crack?

Who's in the know about E85 then? Anyone on here running it?

What's required to run it and get the best from it? Obviously suitable mapping. Then there's larger injectors, but how much larger?

What about fuel pumps? Anything else?

Also, why do some people run a mix of 75% V-Power or Tesco 99 and 25% E85, and some people run purely E85? Which would potentially produce more power?

:D

to get the most of it you want a high compression ratio, or at least high dynamic compression ratio (so supercharging of some sort) to take advantage of it's knock resistance.

i believe that you need the right materials in the fuel system as well as it can be corrosive.

perhaps google it?

9:5.1 high enough?

Have had a mouch on Google, but it's one of those subjects that seems to go from the glaringly obvious to verging on rocket science. Finding useful, detailed information in Layman's terms is tricky, or so I'm finding!

map and build for it and then your stuck with it,very low calorific value so need to get lots of it in and much different comp needed.

i run 54 litre of 95 octane and 4 litres of e85 which makes e5.this is the eq of your tesco 99 ron.its really only 95% 95 ron petrol and 5% ethanol which is a by product of the dairy industry.

e85 is 85% ETHANOL AND 15% 95 RON PETROL....

we dont have 97 and very little e5 in Ireland hence why i have to make up my own at the station....lol
