Difference in RL7's and values?

I believe these were made by raceline and the earls motorsport? I think thats the right name.

Are they same quality? Are the racelines worth more?

What are 17", vgc, bare wheels in white worth, oh earls version.

marco polo Aug 22, 2009 02:42 PM

hi porkchop .lol.

ears are the same wheels ............the differance between the two wheels is the webbing on the back of the spokes

and ears wheels have ears casting on them

I have a set of RL7 with ford motorsport casting on them these are very rare only a few sets were every made with the ford logo

so did i but then thought for some reason it wasn't

Marco should my 3dr be ok with 17x8" wheels, ahmed standard height springs and slightly trimmed arches? I removed my coilovers which in hindsight probably wasn't the best move :wall: I thought i'd prefer konis on a road car.

My 17x8s are et33 flat face comps.

Got chance of gaz's ears 17x8 et35's though.

What are your thoughts mr moonstone 3dr suspension guru?

Lambchop Aug 22, 2009 03:55 PM

ps rears are on and ok when front still coilovers. just worried on fronts.

hi lamb

to be honest im not sure as i use coilovers

on the front i have 8 x17" e.t 25 with 205-40-17 kit trimmed

on the rear i have 8X17" e.t 25 with 235-40-17" (r888 these are wider than normal 235 tho) kit trimmed

personally with suspension i love the grpa billy's

i have tarmac fronts and gravel rears

i use mine on the road all the time spot on no probs

et 25 is more towards the outer arches

the more e.t it has like et 30/35/40 will sit in futher to inner arch

et is measured in milli meters

Where are they catching mate?

I've got 17x8 ET33 MO Flat spokes alll round 215/40/17 on the front and 235/40/17 on the rear and they don't catch I have cut the arches right back you have to be quite brutal but it doesn't look bad.
I wanted to fit a 10mm spacer on the rear just to pull the wheels right out in the arches but they catch then, so i'm getting a pair of 245/35/17 for the rear which work out to have a slimmer profile.
Here is a photo taken today with the 235 fitted see if you can gauge if yours is lower.

Exhaust and petrol tank?

cozzfather Aug 22, 2009 08:00 PM

EARS stands for Escort And Rally Spares, Mike Pattison sold them Ears wheels from his Maccelsfield garage, he was Cheshire's answer to Carlos Sainz.
£750 for some is more than they were new, i think he still is a raceline dealer btw
