4x4 cossie slight problem
Rite my car starts fine and drives spot on apart from on tickover where it is very lumpy etc and also when driving slow ie under 2.5k revs in any gear the car is very jerky and is horrible if you knpow what i mean?
So any body got an idea as to what can be the cause?
Ive just put some 071s in and set the gap to 25 thou and thats made no difference at all.
cheers

mine was like this until i took it joe at GsMotosport.
Dunno what he did but was a different car when i got it back, I know he sorted a couple of sensors out.
It pulls nice from really low down and no jerkey jerky like so many cossies are. Idles like a beaut too.

so many things that can effect idle, and at different temps,
check all wiring loom and mulitiplugs,
check fuel pump and ecu voltage both at idle and under full load
check charge voltage,
check ect sensor is working correctly,
check act is working correctly,
check/adjust base fuel pressure and check reg correctly raises rate,
check map sensor is working correctly,
check for air leaks, pressure test is best,
check and adjuast base idle,
check/adjust phase alignment,
check all sensor gaps,
check function of the iscv,
check/adjsut tps setting and sweep,
check/adjust fuelling at idle, then monitor under load, then check adjust boost to ensure shes safe.
to name a few simple ones
its impossible and dangerous to guess, already im seeing cars comming in with these basic settings miles out of adjustment, and you havent got a hope of making it drive or idle correctly unless they are perfect!

Dicko is your battery light working as normal?
The reason I ask is that I was getting all kinds of misfires and electrical issues (regularly blowing indicator fuses without even using the indicators and so on).
I eventually traced it to poor connections in the battery warning light circuit.
The upshot was that the alternator was not charging properly - I'd see nothing from it till 3000rpm, at which point the alternator would be whining away and the voltage was normal.
This ties in with Jim's 3rd point above
Neil.

What about the charging lamp on the dash? I don't know the ins and outs, but the alternator needs to see a voltage on the small wire otherwise the charging goes to pot.
Like I said, mine had all kinds of issues with this fault
