If you have a policy already you can ring them up and tell them you want to insure another car on your policy for 2 weeks, you are legal to drive it but you cannot get tax for it!

in that case, i would speak to the owner and find out how much it would cost to be put on their insurance for a fortnight ? Gotta be worth a try methinks ?

If it's a high group car they're pricey, if it's not they're not too bad.

If it's a car you're borrowing, and is insured, it'll probably be cheaper for the policy holder to whack you on their policy for a month or whatever.

As said ring your company M as some do cover you or arrange with a sister company temp cover which doenst always cost too much.

I had to use a temp policy for a couple weeks will try find out who it was as it was cheap, just did a google search and picked the cheapest one!!

The downside with the one i chose thou was despite being the cheapest the excess was £700!!!!

if it is going to cost a small fortune to insure on a temp policy you could take out a full years policy and then cancel using the 14 day rights. Then all you should be charged is the admin fee.
I recently took out insurance for a saab 900 turbo and then had to cancel it and got charged £26 for the admin fee.
When taking out the insurance, I went through Quidco and insured it with Swiftcover. For my new policy, I was refunded £28 cashback via the quidco site.
