Do Sapphire Recaros have the tilt mechanism?
 

And if so, what bits are needed to make them tilt? (Cables, tilt lever, different hinge covers, etc)

dont think they did; i've got 2 spare recaro runners down the workshop - i can check the weekend if you want

No.... never seen a 4dr car with tilt as standard.

If you get a minute that would be great. I fancy a leather interior but need the seats to tilt and there are more Sapphire seats than 3 door ones.

thinking about it; i can picture the rails and i'm 80% certain they dont tilt - i will double check tho

Donkeys ago I saw an early Sapphire with seats that had tilt levers and everything but they may have been retrimmed three-door seats.

I just have a doubt at the back of my mind as to whether the seats are the same, but without the control wires and lever arms to operate the tilt.

you can make them tilt by welding a bar across the catches on the bottom of the upper part of the seats,they dont have any mechanism inside like a 3 door seat does.1 way to do it would be to get a pair of knackeered 3 door seats,possibly rst seats might be the same size and swap the leather trim onto these,its really easy to do and would get round your problem.

yes some did used to have set in my xr2 that come out a sapp did not have the lever/cable but had the claws etc so just had to lift the claws up and the seat tilted

Did not the tennis 1.6i cabriolet have recaros :? via the tilt seats
