Default Stolen Bike coming home ( up date go to page 2. )

Well were do i start? 2 years ago i got broke into, well the garage did and i lost my honda cr500 hybrid. It was taken out through the roof as this photo shows....

And this is the bike back in september of 2007 just before it was stolen.....

Well the big news is ive spent the last 2 nights at the police station as the bike was spotted on the internet for sale and today the police set up a sting and the bike has now been seezed and the lad with it has been arested . So we will have to see what comes of it, but the police have told me with the photos ive given them of the bike and the parts on it that i made for it that are one off's, they're 100% sure that i will be getting the bike back soon, but when i don't know? Its now a waiting game

best of luck with it,,, i remember a friend has his bike nicked, turned up on flea bay months later & he went to claim it back,,, it was advertised with no no numbers etc.. when he tried to claim it the person who had it snatched said he had paid for an engine build & the cops said he may have to pay the fella for the work done he told them t get fucked, when they looked at the bike it still had the anti-tamper lock wire he had put on several of the engine bolts proving it had not been apart.

Any chance of finding out who had it?

If you can you can dish up your own payback. I've got no time at all for theiving toe rags. They should be made to have thief tatooed across their foreheads so the whole world can see they aren't to be trusted.

The guy who has been arrested claims he has spent alot of money on the bike since he has owned it, where do i stand if he can prove he has paid for the parts genuinly with receipts etc, would i get the bike minus the bits or as a complete bike, which at the end of the day is what was stolen through my garage roof! Just one question i need answering as i didn't ask the police earlier on tonight.

he "claims" he has spent money on parts. How can he prove the parts on the bike are parts hes paid for?? unless they are serial numbered he wont be able to proove beyond a reasonable doubt im sure!!

Also for a start he has never "owned" the bike. Does he have V5, bill of sale, reciept etc??? or just "my mate sold it me" and "i dont know his name"

either way he's fucked.

You could be right in what you are saying there mate about serial number's for parts ???????? . THE only spanner in the works, is one of his mate's came to the police station and i know him but he does not know me. The thing is this lad owns a a bike shop so he might start making receipts for him?

surely in the initial questioning they will ask where receipts are and then search his house for them so anything that mysteriously appears later on will be suspicious/?

coley , if you have a few various pics of the bike

then use them to match the parts actually on the bike,

noticed the factory covers ect ,

and well the oly way hes going to claim if its not visually different is on internals ,

such as new piston ect ,

and well u could aways pop to his gaff and tell him how it is as far as claiming ,

tell him to get fucked ,

id tell the police that the bike was in good condition when it was stolen and any money he has spent on it is because of the abuse they have been given it .....................pay his mate a visit at his shop....

GLad your getting the thing back - but remember one other thing - wait a while till you give him a kicking or you will be number one suspect

As above its unlikley the guy that has the bike will get done for stealing it as all he needs to say is that he bought it off a bloke in the pub. If there are no finger prints of his at the scene then he will get away with it.

You could always pay if they say you need to... You've got his address, and if you're already planning on paying him a visit he can reimburse you at the same time.

i remember this

as for you asking if he can get his stuff of the bike yes he can he is within his right's a local lad bought a s1 rs turbo about 10 years ago it was stolen from 4 years before the poor lad had no insurance but did get the car back, but he didnt get the exhaust, alloys and many other items as thay were taken of by the person who had it. police said because he had prove of what he bought for it he was in his rights to take them of..
