Default is it normal for my manifold to get absoloutley blazin hot

just had a gt28 and a collins cast tubular manifold fitted to my focus rs, after a drive i open the bonnet and the heat off the manifold nearly knocks me out, it wasnt like this on standard one, is this normal ??? just seam 5 times hotter than before

mine used to glow after i'd driven it very hard (stage 3 saff).

Yes its normal, you need a good heatshield, it has been known for them to melt the paint off the bonnets with the heat, also front grilles!

feel the bonnet after a drive its shocking! you could cook an egg on there! get it heat wrapped or ceramic coated!

Assuming that your car isn't, this is something that is improved with live mapping. Optimising the ignition timing can reduce these temps. Unfortunately generic maps have to be conservative and therefore retarded in terms of ignition timing.

That said, it's always going to be bloody hot, just not quite as hot once properly mapped.
