i dont know alot about Audi's but i'm hoping someone on here will know something about one i've been offered.
its a A reg 2.1 quattro turbo coupe, its black and been laid up for at least 7 years.
what variences is there which determines what model it is or how rare it is?
lastly, million dollar question, are they worth anything.???? i'll get some pics
currently its a non runner as the exhaust manifold is removed due to a crack.

wr is a version denominator , its an early to mid 80,s model iirc, exhaust manifolds are a well known issue (cracking) money pits as parts are a nightmare to get hold of now hence prices are ridiculous, i had my last one in 1993 and bits were hard to get then!! great cars though.

Yea, think they're mega rare though... sure I saw a red one that was fully prepared by Dialynx go for 25 or 30k a while back.
I love the old UR Quattros, got taken out for a blast in a concours one about 10 years ago and have wanted one ever since.. think they look absolutely mint.
Cheers,
Grant

Chasing Radders
cool.....Same as what Mike Brewer had on Wheeler Dealers a few weeks ago.
He bought a C Plater for £3800 that needed a little bt sorting on it, Clutch problem, A little paintwork, New drivers seat trim ect ect....
Think he sold it for about 6k.......................I know its TV but it was a tidy looking car and i think it was about right on the money.

Just come off the Phone from a Audi Builder, Rough ones go for what you are paying about £500 if you have the knowledge & the parts its fine because a good one is 3.5k, however its best to find one thats straight for 3k than try to create a good one from a £500 banger. You have been warned. His opinion not mine.

its all about the 5 pot
Sounds like you cant afford not to buy it!! Anything special of the era is getting thin on the ground so buy it even if you sell it on and make a drink, its extra. Bet its worth a few bob.

maybe worth buying it for parts alone then
parts are there to put it back together, so i "shouldnt" have to source/ buy any

Parts can be very expensive, so it could end up only being worth what you put into it.
The UR bit denotes that it's a wide arch quattro. It's actually just called an Audi quattro, but because Audi used the quattro name on other models people add UR (means 'original' in German IIRC) so you know what car they're talking about. If it's not a wide arched one (so probably not a turbo) then it's worth £500! If it's a UR quattro then (as long as it's sound other than the manifold, tyres and fluids) £500 would be a steal!
Incidentally (and geekily) 'quattro' should always be written with a lower case 'q'!
