lost keys mk3 fiesta now goes brooom
Just a quick update and a big thanks to all who gave there advice,opinion or help
I now have a drivable fiesta and all it cost was £20 for a key cut from the key number.Hi got made redundant recently so had to return the company car so in bid to stay mobile i brought a very cheap fiesta 1.3lx mk3 1995 the car only came with 1 key which like an idiot i have lost .
I rang the local dealer told them that i needed a new key and that i have the original key number at which point i was quoted nearly £300
I am aware of the option of a second hand lock set & ecu which so far sounds the cheapest option and would be ok if my local breaker had the keys to any of the ones in his yard so before i go tracking the bits down and getting them posted to me i thought i would ask if anyone here had any other ideas such as bypassing the immobiliser or if there is somewhere cheaper to get the key cut with the key number which i have found in the cars original docs

your looking at 30 quid for a replacement key if you know your key number and i don't even think they need coding off ids at that age of car

my missus had same car,same year but didnt have an immobiliser.For the sake of a few quid just get a key cut with the same number and see how you get on. if it dont start at least your be able to get in then we can work on how to disable the immobiliser if it has one.

now got a key cut for mk3 fiesta just the imobiliser to bypass

lol help needed to kill my immobiliser
Anyway now got a key to turn all the locks just need to know how to bypass the immobiliser

I am told these ones you need to change the whole ecu and as said earlier the local breakers have not got keys for any of there mk3 fiestas and im sure there is a way to get it going with an extra live feed

immobiliser bypass mk3 fiesta
just trying to work out where to conect the live feed i know it goes to the stop solanoid but i dont think thats the one on the starter or maybe it is iv also found info saying conect it to the fuel pump

you cant just do that mate its ecu lock you cant just power up the pump and starter and away you go. just go to the scrappers get 3 keys and get an auto electrician to programme them, will only cost £30. you mention fuel pump, is it a petrol or diesel? if its a diesel its a different story . . .

you can do it with 1 wire but im unsure if i should tell you bein a newby n all that, it works on any pats car and you dont need to bypass like an aftermarket immob, 1 wire and everything works

Its all very well bypassing the fuel pump cut offs etc but whats the point when you need the ECU to control the engine management??

sounds like the procedure for disabling external pats where the PATS is not integrated into the ECU.
you need to know what your car has. if its internal pats then dont bother .
Also remember that your car will be readily hotwireable in about 10 seconds once you got past it

im not gonna say on here am i, i used to recover for a ford main dealer (many 165's) and its what we used to do to get em on the truck easier, sadly most later fords steering locks take the stalks round too which just adds to the problem
with diesels its as easy as fitting the simple solinoid and running a pos as the link says, on petrol its just a matter of running 1 wire between 2 connections, ok so its a fucker to stop it again from inside the car unless you switch the wire but either way it gets you moving

tell me if it works, if it dont its usually the wire bridging into the other connectors too
could scotchlock it i spose
also if you wanna scare ya mates when you are done with the car, connect the airbag wire 1 to earth and the other to the blue and black and ask em to move your car
be careful tho it mite kill someone, it easily throws a wheelbrace thru the rear screen and across the yard when they go off

1.9 xr2 on 40's, you saying that works for internal ECU controlled PATS or just the simple external pats in earlier cars?? Id like to know how simply bridging two contacts bypass's the electronic side of the encoded PATS. Sure you can bypass the earthing issue but how do you bypass the fact that electronically the ECU wont process anything it needs to run the engine on a petrol car??? I can only see this working if ford built in a deliberate bypass for dealer use only.
