Be a brave man to bet against andy barring any mechanical problems... and all this with his OLD engine! He's a good couple of hundred hp down on ollie clark and even more on si norris!

Yeah I saw that too when it had the black wheels...was just up at a speed sunday track day. Think Andrew has been around 650-670bhp in the last few cars he's has, but the difference now is obviously the blue car is lighter!

Really looking forward to this, I will have to take extra bravery pills though standing trackside while Andy and Ollie etc are on a fast lap!
Ollie is running about 900bhp I think and with Andy's local knowledge is should be a good fight.
I heard Ollie was doing a bit of cheating at Oulton?

You've certainly got your work cut out there Andy, Clark and his car are an awesome combination and I really cant get my head round how your focus stands a chance on paper, lets just hope its one of the those times where the specs dont show the real potential.
One thing we all know you wont be lacking is commitment!

For those of you that don't know, Olly only runs the Gas (Full Power) in the Final. At Oulton the Gas didn't work for the first time since running it, hence being over a second of his previous best time in 08. A 1:25.9 something !

in the final i would of beat that, without gas, the qualifing was the only good run i had in the dry and was only learning the track and getting held up with traffic, i wasn't holding back for a clear run and reallly going for it,, is a big circiut to find 2 sec

Awesome Car you have !
But
Even if you did beat his times, He will be the One Standing on the Top Step of the Podium !
Why don't you build a Focus with a Body Shell ? And Compete with the same Rules ?
All the Best for KnockHill !

to be quite honest, the testemant of andy's skills both as a car fabricator/builder and drver combined shows that you dont have to have the most expensive built, most powerful engine to win or stand a chance really.
all the best to you andy, think si and ollie with more power may get a better hit up the straight but no-one knows the 'hill like you in that focus these days.
all the best for TA and we look forward to seeing you mount a challenge for the top spot.

tbh it wasn't built for TA it was built for scottish sports and saloons,, but with the new class i can run it,, i'm not fussed about standing on a podium,, as i will only be doing a few rounds anyway as they clash with my racing.....
should be up the hill next week to try these 888's out!!

I hardly think Andy's car was very cheap to buildeither. As much as I love Andy's car, I really don't see the point in building a car (other than an amazing demo for your company) that has no real competition, especially being the competitive guiy he is. Time attack doesnt count for points, and lets face it, if you start at the back of the grid in scottish saloons and finish first on cars first outing, that says it all. its lighting faster than everything. Kinda boring champoionship for him I would imagine

I agree PT abit of a formality (well almost)
Andy why do you not build your own engines? and has TA given you any new customers ? somebody with your fabrication skills could surely build a great car for a customer

i built the car i wanted to built and i wanted to do the scottish championship i can't help it if its way quicker than lambos and 700bhp evos etc...i'm not going to change it so i can be on the ta podium or fire gas into it,
its not my fault there is no competition

Do what you want with the car, it doesn't bother me. Just seemed you had a right laugh in those fiestas the other week than another easy first place in the focus

Im not having a dig at you or your car. But with 1-200+bhp less in scottish saloons would'nt you be right in amongst them etc essentially bumper to bumper racing which, as you've said in the past you enjoy alot more

bumper to bumper is great but so is winning,,,still wouldn't want to go slower to be bumper to bumper then come in second

spoke to harv yesterday and the head is back from getting tweaked at cosworth so that engine will be in soon (prob not for next ta thou) so not sure what to do with the jg engine,,, the 5 min i had it running it filled the comp housing with oil sent it to cr turbos and they say its had a hard life, not what you would expect to find on a new build like that and pectel not yet been able to fix ecu,,,, think biggest problem is the engine was never dynoed with its own loom or ecu.... i can see it going cheap as i have had about enough with it!!

pt the thing is as andy said there is a evo there with more power & it fairly goes so its not just that andys built a car thats thats much quicker , its down to a few things , how well he can pedal , how well the car is built & set up , and the weight of the car.
charlies focus has over 700 bhp now as well but still not getting near the lap times andrew is.

Was that for the incident with the green fiesta that was shown in the pics?
TBH, I think what youve done with the focus is awesome, and like you say, its not like other people in the championship arent on similar budgets, theyre just not competitive! Just a shame IMO that you cant run with the others at TA, but the times speak for themselves regardless
