Normally you find out the price before you decide you're going to get something.. especially when Dojj is right.

The rule of thumb is generally when you get to big power you spend as much on the transmission as you do on the engine i.e. a Ł10k 500bhp build = Ł10k on tranmission.

But does the best suit your needs, How drivable do you want the car or is it purely track?

Your best option is to talk it out with either Bara or Martin and use there experience to see what suits your needs as they can then supply to your needs, Being 2wd u have alot of options. With my customers we always try to establish there FINAL goal and spec things to that rather than the current needs as this can save alot of time and money for the customer.

If you dont mind a little extra weight, a TKO or T56 might be worth considering also.

so a seven speed sequential, althught possibly being the best, might not be what he needs and he could get away with a 6 speed sequential for half the price?

figurativly speaking?

I doubt my driving will ever be good enough that I would see more gains from a 7 speed sequential over a 6 speed sequential to my laptimes than I would see from driver tuition, so yes IMHO its perfectly reasonable that a 7 speed would be a waste of money for a lot of people.

Very good box, We have run them in mustangs with 600hp and they been very up to it, Keeping in mind a mustang is alot heavier and generally been launched very hard from stand still.

PS

Not familiar with your car, so not sure if this will be an issue to you, but you will probably have to make some changes to the shell for clearance for either a T56 or TKO.

For track day use though he would need to be running something like a 4.10:1 rear diff ratio to get the best out of 6 or even to use 6th lol. The viper spec one is .5:1 6th gear ratio. Great for cruising

alot of the norweigian guys run the TKO range, if your clever you can probably get one from the states easy enough, they are common place in alot of yank motors

you'll need to mod the bell housing but i dont have the details for that

they cope with silly torque providing they are in good/ new condition to begin with

with the exchange rate as it is its maybe not such a great deal at the moment
