Hey guys...
Just a quick one.
What do you guys reckon to this.....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1985-Mk2-FORD-...1%7C240%3A1318
And how many beer tokens would you part with for it? Dont know if its worth bidding...

I thinkin, tidy it up, as much as possible, without the concours esque 'Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, my silencer has some dirt oon it' levels of tidyness, get a ncb, then sort it out... the compomotiv factory is on my doorstep, so it would be rude not to pay them a visit.... Pipedreams of course... but it does look tidy!

Just drop it on some little wheels with low profile tyres, RS steering wheel, just little things! I do realy love the mk2's and much prefer one of these to any other fiesta... It seems perfect for me!

reminds me of some of the ones i used to have.
i learned how to do bodywork on them things, the wheelarches, sills, innerwings, frontpanels, the bootfloor all could fall to pieces but they were a nice car to drive. i have had about 100 mk2 fiestas all types inc the rare models like the olympus and the dash.i used to have xr2's with not even a hint of rust and even drove a mk2 xr2 to the south of france and back with not one problem.

Cozzfather.... You sound like the man i need to be speaking to!
Haha, Call me optermistic, but im trying to find the wheels that would suit it perfectly, im thinking either alley cats, on low profiles, or getting some wheels from compomotive that are like the escos monte rims, but in a 13", with low profiles.
Also, as its only an 'L' its a bit basic (to say the least) inside, can you sugest any cheap and easy and easy mods that would make a big difference?
Cheers mate

I have seen one that ticks all my boxes, iirc, it was a company called carrera (?) The same company that had a RST in fast ford a few mnths ago, with the mk6 escort front end...
Would any one have some picures of a nice mk2 for inspiration?

i once had a xr2 that had uprated and lowered suspension and capri 2.8 i special alloys on,the ones with the 7 spokes that look like 13" versions of the 15" capri brooklands which look like the 17" 7 spoke rs alloys that you somtimes see on sierra cos's. it was the first one i ever saw and looked great. the earlier mk2 xr2's have a differant carb on them and gearbox and are faster than the later ones.
i remember the days when i would go down the auctions with fat pockets and buy a mk2 xr2 and spend a couple of days cleaning and polishing and minting up then sell it on for a nice profit.
they were the good old days Wolvo. i would rather have a cool first car than a boring one
i sold a v reg black fiesta zetec with alloys and 73k miles for 725 last week, thats the kind of money a facelifted v reg does at the mo

Im not that interested in the performance side of things as its my first car lol... More than anything i just want it to look tidy! im never gonna make it quick with a 1.1 lol, so ill leave the engine till i have a bit more experience!

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Get that bought now. Looks tidy, set of wheels, some rs turbo front seats and a rs 4 spoke steering wheel and thats it. Would look great for a first car. Plus it`d be easily worked on to learn things including servicing the engine.

Hey Brian. The thing that worries me with coil-overs is the amount they can be adjusted, will they come with a sencible set up or will i have to take them to a professional to be set up right?

Cheers Brian!
I think ill probably stick with the konis to be honest mate, as much as id love coil overs i think it might be a bit over kill!
Any ideas how much a set of konis/spaxs will be? Most places seem to not stock mk2 parts anymore?

Any one final comments before i choose my maximum price? I Dont want to come on here and say ive payed a grand for everyone to tell me ive been ripped off!
Everyone just type a value and ill work out the average from the comments! Job done! Bidding ends in a few hours! Wish me luck.

prob not the best idea to discuss your "top " price on here as the auction is still goin and as its a nice car you are advertising it!!! Also you seem to be planning way ahead of yourself. If i was you,win it 1st then plan.Your be so disappointed otherwise. The amount of times ive planned things for when i win something and i get outbid right at the last second or go over my budget.
Good luck tho m8.
BTW - I had a mk2 xr2 and one of the best cars i had.It was an earlier one with the "snappy" choke which made it feel quicker than the later ones.
Thats what hes on about.
Good luck tho m8.

I just cant help myself haha, im willing to pay a lot more than what people on here have commented mate so unless, like you say, i get outbid at the last second it should be coming home with me!
I know what your saying though and i will be well gutted if some one pips me at the last second lol
