Default If you end up really bored on PF

Do what I just did by accident and have a click of that sparkplug advert that comes up on here.

Its comedy gold their "technology"

If what they say is true, im amazed that it doesnt insist on the site that you have your car remapped, because you would certainly get detonation if what they say is true and you didnt do so

Such a shame that a place like PF that used to be full of good advice, is now overun by adverts for chav products, Im expecting to see electric superchargers made from computer fans up there soon

It's a business to the Yanks though Chip......it has to pay it's way. I suspect whatever shit anyone wanted to advertise would be OK, as long as they paid......

I think this is one of the best lines:

In extensive testing it was proven that E3 spark plugs reduce fuel use in small engines an estimated up to 13%
It was PROVEN to give
"an estimated"
"up to"

Wow, thats some pretty exact science there

Yes im sure it will

Such a shame to see members of the forum encouraged to waste their hard earned money just to line the pockets of those that run the place IMHO!

Kind of goes against everything PF used to stand for dont you reckon?

I realise its inevitable that will happen now its about profit not passion, but then it's also inevitable me having a little moan about it, lol

Totally agree chip. It's a shame it's just a business these days as for me the spirit of the board has been lost, along side the totally over the top moderation of the site.. By saying "repost" you can get banned!

With the site full of adverts which no doubt pay for the board complete with high traders fee's. Who pockets the gold member fees? Ib I assume?

The regulars seem to have either vanished or post once in a blue moon.. Shame as it now seems those who had a personality are now banned LOL

Sadly as the value of the board now would be based on its ability to generate as much revenue as possible from its users, rather than on its value as a community of people helping each other, I wouldnt be able to afford it these days.

It's not that bad surely, I read this site all the time and there's plenty of good advice mulling around.

I'm pretty sure that IB can advertise anything they want and were not at contract to believe or buy the stuff are we?

I've solved many an RS problem with help from here. Stu is still going to build engines, the Reyland guys are still going to build great cars, Rod's still going to push his taxi untill he's too old to climb in it without breaking a hip and Im sure your still going to do whatever it is you do Chip

It will all come through here, and long may it be that way

PeterD, lets hope those things do continue mate yes

Its just a shame for the forum to have to be ascociated with chav crap to see it, makes the place look a lot less serious to new users of a more serious car modifying nature I should think.

The thing to remember with things like adverts on forums, is if the users dont kick up a little fuss now and then, odds are the place will be REALLY overrun with them, dont you remember that brief fuckup where they splattered them all down the side of the page?

But anyway, you are taking my post far too seriously, my main reason for posting was just I found the site genuinely amusing so thought others might too.
Even the thread title is specifically only targetting people who are bored and have nothing better to do.
If it was a serious complaint, it would be presented as one.

Plus by people clicking the ad I mentioned, im sure it means that people are helping support the site as IB probably get clickthrough money, lol

I agree with you chip.

In the last 6 months or so I have noticed a steady decline in regular members on here. But as I have said in the past, people will go elsewhere if they dont like passionford, and it appears that a lot of members are.

It happened with the FFOC that I used to be a member of a few years ago, that site was massive, then it just all got a bit too serious, and the place was dead within months. Went back on there recently and it is picking up again now a few changes have been made, but no doubt its the way this place is going.....

I think that a part of the decline in the quality of posts on here, is simply that people arent spending as much money on old fords anymore, as things like evo's make much more sense.

So I dont think the decline of good posts is purely the fault of the adverts.

The combination of the two things though, less quality posts, and more crappy adverts, does detract in terms of how the site comes across though in my opinion.
