Another thing that makes mine and Dougs work so well is they were on 3.9 diff ratio.

Make huge difference and as Maria said that engine was really amazing and you could do ANYTHING with it!

Cant wait to get that spec in the Westy but with a proper tubular exhaust manifold as well!

Yes Doug is on 3.9 gearing now as well.

Has lowered the top speed slightly, but that was so high anyway that you would never realistically use it.

4th now is 135mph or so according to my offroad testing that I conducted safely away from the public highway, which is more than enough IMHO for most circumstances, and it pulls SO hard all through 4th.
And putting your foot down in second, feels almost like a launch with how it pins you back, lol

Have to say 3.9 gearing is the only way for a Cossy track car, totally transformed my mates 400hp 3 door, big power cars will still do 180mph on that gearing too which isn't exactly slow

ps stroker kitted engine CAN, not rev as non strokered, but thats if a bit of thought hasnt gone into it,

when you stroker an engine, you think about keeping a good rod angle, so rod legnths and gudjin (sp ) pin heights in the piston,

so its long rods, short pistons and big crank
so it revs and has the extra capaity

Tony Mannock mentioned that to me the other day - 8mm longer rods. Makes the engine less harsh?

that would make it a 136mm rod ? (i think standard are 128 ?)

that would give you a very good rod angle if so and it would allow the engine to rev smoother ( i think thats the word to explain it lol)
