1146 lbft at 1400 rpm !

Default 1146 lbft at 1400 rpm !

ive just worked this out i think its right. a caterpillar d8k engine has 300 hp at 1400 rpm. they dont give a torque figure but 1126 lbft / 5252 x 1400 = 300 hp so must be correct musnt it ?

That's nothing, a Scania V8 makes 620bhp at 1900rpm which is over 1700lb/ft and 2212lb/ft between 1100-1400rpm..........

A man B&W 6S70MC ship engine makes 20940bhp at 88rpm with a torque of 390Tm (2820871lb/ft) and imagine that the biggest engine of this brand makes around 120000bhp so scania and cat are just small toys!!!

i think i saw this on telly a few months ago they had to remove the building it was built in to get the engine out very impressive stuff .

I will correct myself: The biggest engine of the world is MAN B&W K108ME-C6-14 which makes 130480Bhp at 94rpm with a torque of 7290304lb/ft. It weights 2828tons and has a length of 107ft.The piston diameter is 108cm. Now that's an engine!
