Default Nitro fuel + glow plugs?

What does the heat range refer to on the glow plugs? cold, warm and hot etc?
What does the number refer to on the fuel, 16, 25 etc?

16% nitro content in the fuel and 25%.. you can get 30% and 40% too
but the engines dont tend to last so long with the more fruity stuff!

the glow plugs are just that, some run hotter than others.
