As you can see from the images the top bracket from the alternator broke. I remove it together with the engine bracket that seems deformed (you can see the gap between the engine bracket and the alternator, it is about 4 mm with alternator in place so thats what I think caused the alternator bracket to brake). Have you ever seen this before?
Anyway new parts on the way allready...

yep happened to me, just replaced the alternator, just weak casting i think

I think that it's because the engine bracket been slightly deformed. The think was breaking the top alternator bolt all the time and then I putted a 10.9 grade and this lasted for about a year but now the alternator broke instaid the bolt!

just had a better look at your pics, your alternator has been poilshed, this has weakened the castings, mine was polished and it did exactly the same, put a non polished one on and it lasted years, you will have no chance of bending that bracket mate
