1.6's usually go pretty well, especially if looked after, they arn't far off 1.9's to be honest!
They dont need huge power to be fun down the lanes!
My mate wont a few rally's in his with the 1.6 in it, bog standard one too!
He's now got a 150 bhp 1.9 though

Ok so you have paid money for a car you've only ever seen pictures of & never driven????

Good luck if thats the case mate.

Hope it all turns out right for you mate!

they are good fun... HOWEVER! it will become very obvious very quickly that it is a
20 odd year old car when you drive it!

ALL i would say is... replace all suspension bushes (very easy)
engine mounts and the gear linkages (can be done for like £250 i reckon)
because they almost certainly wont have been done.

and it wil be a GREAT car.you will enjoy it WAY more for spending that little bit extra on getting them bits done i promise!.

not quick at all. just nippy.

Thumbs up to that, my 205 used to go through a set of bushes with every tank of juice! (maybe a slight exageration, more like every 4-6 weeks!)
They are horrid with worn bushes.
