Default Brake judder update

Last post has gone now

But having trouble with above.

New APs on front only done 2 track days and we then started experiencing judder.

Thought is was down to warped discs so had them skimmed and new pads, but put them back on and same result.

Taken the discs back to engineer who measured them and they are running out no more than 2 thou, and also thick thin no more than 2 thou, so cant see this being the problem

Bells were also measured and absolutly fine

All TCAs and rose joints etc fine

So any other ideas welcome??

Wheels Ok
Ball joints OK
Top mounts are new
Shocks OK

The only other thing maybe the tyres are worn badly? although you only feel it under braking

Tony, you still up for tomorrow??

Where the cast iron hub carrier takes the balljoint pin, the hole in the hub carrier wears into an oval shape, causing untold judder/whatever.

Oooh ok, but it will be 3000's not 3003's

I just threw that in, but there is something behind it ... hard pad known to kill rotors.

Check the steering arm ball joints as a further option.

No they are 3003, its a deeper pad than 3000 for more rotor coverage

Will check steering ball joints tommorrow

The pad depth has nothing to do with the compound numbers , greater pad depth will be measured in D46,D51,D54 etc....

He is quoting the part number!! FRP3003 is a deeper version of FRP3000, his pad material is DS3000 (both part no's are available in various compounds i.e. DS2500/3000 etc). These are Ferrodo numbers NOT the AP numbers you are refering to.

get the front end in the air and have a wiggle try and lock the wheel on the steering lock maybe theres usually is a little play but it wouldn't be excessive whilst it's in the air you can have a check of the rest of the bushes and ball joints so atleast hopefully you'll find your problem
