Question ST TDCi Brake Upgrades??

I need to get new disc and pads for the mondy and as standard I find them a bit under-rated for the size and the speed of it. What decent upgrades are there that dont brake the bank (ie, not ap/hi-spec)??

Cheers

if you dont wanna spend 1k+ on an up grade kit(ap hi spec etc) up grade with some ebc discs pads go for red pads with turbo groove discs.should cost around 250.try brakes4u.com

Dunno if the brakes are the same on the ST as the normal TDCi (I have a TDCi daily driver), if so then there's not much available

I tried EBC on my cossie when it was just a stage 1 and they did nothing but warp discs. The back ones actually delaminated too which could have been nasty! I rang EBC and they tried to blame my brake hoses

In the end I went to Ferodo DS2500's which were much better, but I don't think they're available for the mondy

I've just fitted new ford discs and pads all round to the mondy and it's made a big difference, going to replace the fluid with something decent as soon as I get a spare couple of hours. Hopefully this will improve things further.

HTH

Neil.

Nice one, cheers neil. I think everything on the ST Diesel is the same as the 220 all bar the engine. I'll get all new discs and see what happens. What fluid you going for out of interest?

every mk3 mondeo has the same brakes front and rear other than the estate which has different rear calipers due ot the suspension design

what you want to do is bolt on a set of focus st stoppers, they are bigger and there will be more scope for improvements once you get the calieprs

the will also fit under a set of 17's

or if you have Ł2500 odd to spare you can call martin and get one of his 362mm 6 pot ap kits and wheels

What shape focus ST mate? Clearance shouldn't be an issue as it's on 18's.

Ł200 is the top end for a set of calipers, but there are bargains out there
