Ive put my dish back up after building an extension. I have got the correct satellite as i have the 'lock' and the 0002 and the 07D4.

Now its been down since about mid december. I have good signal strength and i have a picture and the TV listing so i thought id cracked it but no, for some reason i can get no channels other than 1,2,3,4. All the others come on with the blue box saying 'to upgrade your subscription call TLELPHONE NUMBER'. So thats strange but the other thing ive noticed is on ITV it should say on the banner ITV Yorkshire but it says ITV Central. I thought there was only one sat you could point at for sky? How is the region identified?

Sounds like you're pointing at the wrong satellite Lee - there are are different ones that sky use region dependant (or so I was told anyway)

Another thing thought with this region thing is My Mum n dad have two set top boxes. They dont have multi room, they just have a box in room that is the main one, then if mums watching some crap on normal telly or dvd Dad takes card out of room and goes in conservatory. The one in room is Itv yorkshire, the one in conservatory is like im getting here, central

your pointing at the right satellite, all the itvs are at the same position,

Not got sky so only guessing, could be the box needs an update, either over the air or via the phone line?

also the sky boxs regions go by subscriber postcode, but you can manualy add any of region if you want,

Thanks mate, it must be something with the box as ive just been to mum n dads and its deffo as i say, one if yorkshire on itv and bbc, and the one in conservatory is bbc london and itv central!

Just read on a site that those regions are the base setting for all boxes. I wonder if its cos its been off for a while....its had power to it all the time though...Have to ring em tomorrow

Could be down to a dodgy card. Also would go along with it asking you to upgrade as without cards boxes do function and run off the default region for ITV.

Sorted it When i came back it had updated itself and i had all the channels But was still bbc london etc, s i went into system install and did a new installation and its all fine now Cheers
