Default comfy footwear??

In my new job im currently walking between 10-15miles a day on mostly tarmac and its making my feet hurt like fuck and its beginning to annoy me!!

I usually walk around a lot and have no problems with feet usually but this is well over the top at the moment with my feet burning by the end of the day.

Im wearing my military "pro-boot" combat boots which have been perfect in the past and mean i can walk all day without any major snags.

Im not getting any muscular pain, its just impact soreness from being on my feet 8 hours walking a lot.

Now i expected this the first couple of days, but i been working 2 weeks and its not changed at all really so im kind of wondering what the fucks wrong!!! Ive got sorbathane inserts but they dont make much difference, and over the counter paracetamol and brufen makes no noticable difference.

I do all the airing my feet when im in, elevating them, etc so not really sure what else.

Any one got any ideas???

Any one know of any REALLY comfy ankle hieght boots/ walking shoes i can get in black???

I've heard good things about Hi-Tec Magnum boots, but never tried them.
Seemingly police and armed forces all over the world have been using them.

The trouble with Pro Boots is they are designed for cold weather so your foot will be very hot, this wont be helping Warren.

You need to try some on and see whats the most comfortable really mate. Magnums are quite good. Alt berg's are good but take a good while to break in, then theres Lowa's which i think are by far the most comfortable boot i have ever worn.

I used to wear a pair of Magnum Classics day to day - the only reason I changed them is because of damage caused by a dog. I've recently switched to a pair of Magnum Elite's. They're very comfy and very sturdy - I would expect so for the price they cost, but then good boots never come cheap. They're that bit tougher than the Classics.

What socks are you using? Do the boots fit properly? Impact pain should ease with time as the flesh between the bones and the sole of your foot will toughen up.

i know exactly what your going through pal, having the same probs myself, i am alternating between 2 shoes, a par of nike air force one's in black leather, hi top with ankle support, when they are really tender and a pair of lacoste shoes, similar style to cat or rockport, but much more comfortable, both are gortex so keep feet dry in the wet and breathable in the heat.

another suggestion would be some timberlands, sure you will be abel to get black ones fella

hope this helps

Alternatively you could get some gel insoles with heel impact cushioning for your current boots - would be cheaper.

I've found the caterpillar hydraulic hiking boot very comfortable. Feet don't sweat much in them & the steel toe cap is pretty good.

wife works in a shop selling boots/equipment etc to both the public and the army, she said that magnum's are soft leather but comfy however won't shine. Lowa's will polish up however are quite heavy but V comfy . Both based on feedback from customers. Retail on Magnums range from £60 -£120. Lowa's £130 -£150. Said she could possibly organise a PF discount. Security/Police tend to buy Magnum's. squaddies tend to buy Lowa's.

Im using some comfy hiking socks with the sweat wick thing to keep my feet dry. my boots fit fine! worn them for years with no issues. Ive had impact pain before but in the past i got used to it in a few days where as this has been 2 weeks now.

Problem with them is they are "trainer style" and look like trainers with different colour patches and suede leather etc. I have a set of them and yes comfy but not smart enough for my needs.

Im sure there must be some smart boots out there which are comfy too. I shall look at some Lowas.

Cant beat RockPort.

I walk all day all over london and have had timberland caterpillar etc etc.

A cheap show zone pair of shoes last me between 3 weeks and a month.

The rockports lasted me 14 months and i only replaced them due to starting to look tatty as i have to go into some pretty high profile offices

Rockport all the way. £120 though...
