When you say "clicked to reply" do you mean on here? Cos I've heard of a few people having probs with this fucking "redirecting" thing IB has implented on this board... Seems to be a marketing thing that when people click external links it does a redirecting thing that can cause pop ups.
What browser are you running? IE? Firefox? Safari? Have you checked the pop up blocker in the browser is running? I don't have virtually any probs with pop ups (I;m on Win XP running Safari, but didn't have any with IE7 either)
Try downloading and installing the Google Toolbar for your browser which has a built in pop up blocker I used to use with IE5 and 6 and it worked very well......

download hijack this
http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-...-10227353.html
HijackThis lists the contents of key areas of the Registry and hard drive--areas that are used by both legitimate programmers and hijackers. The program is continually updated to detect and remove new hijacks. It does not target specific programs and URLs, only the methods used by hijackers to force you onto their sites.
Post the log file into this URL
http://www.hijackthis.de/
and it will tell you the cause and all suspicious processes running on your system
Only way to do it, all the scanners and stuff are crap imho
If you post the log I will have a look through it for you
my other advise is to install Linux and this would not be a problem
