Rare 2wd factory colours:
Radiant Red (I've only seen one, genuine), Crystal Blue (I only saw 4 at the shows last year). Mercury Grey: only seen a handful of these. Black: was a special order colour, so there was only a handful of those made.
2wd Sapphires were originally only available in three colours: Diamond White, Mercury Grey and Crystal Blue. Of the three, only Diamond White carried on after 1988...make of that what you will

i used to work for a main dealer that bought cars from direct out of ford motor company, they were press cars, celebrity cars, management cars, development cars, basically anything that ford would own and not someone who was useing it.
i saw auto cossies,a leathered rs500,dark green metallic 2wd sierra cosworth that was the road car for the chairman of ford uk. if you were high up the chain of command you could order specials, ford had a code called svo which stood for special vehicle order and ment the car was ordered differant.also if you were a firm or brave you could order 25 cars in any colour you want. imagine getting 25 people interested in new focus rs's and getting them in black if they don't officially come like that.that would make a rare care later on.

Was at Central Day last year I think. N5 for the engine code on the VIN tag and Radiant Red on the body tag were good enough for me
Think you'll find it was 1989 with the first Mark 2 Sierra facelift. So that would make late F reg's onwards.
so when was flint grey introduced?
