[Discuss] Kids are growing up FAR too fast these days...
I only see my lad every other weekend, but do get to see him more due to other reasons, ie his step brother having parties, holidays etc
He's 12, and of course learning the bits in life that make him a man.
But tonight he started asking about condoms, and I know he has a few girlfriends here and there and I know he will start "experimenting"
He noticed "condoms" in pubs, so I made the decision to show him one and how properly to use it.
If I didnt show him, he'd be buying them for himself, using it wrongly, and, well the inevitable will happen...
12 years old tho

Sorry, you did a live sex demonstration in the middle of the Pub?
I tell you what though, I've seen girls not know how to put them on and try and stretch them down rather than unroll and not squeeze the air out of the tip running more risk of breaking.
So good work fella. But just think of the money you could have got out of the tabloids or the Jeremy Kyle show.

In for a penny in for a pound. Half the knowledge is just as bad as no knowledge. Surely he did Sex Ed at 11?

at 11 it is VERY unlikely that he'd have had a conversation about 'sex' at all at school. Lessons are usually based on the 'changing body' a little about emotions in relationships and even less about the mechanics of sex !

School tought us nout useful iirc, teacher looked embarassed and it was all taken as a joke
One of the sex ed classes was also disrupted due to a lad getting head of some girl - mid lesson lol - I kid you not, the teacher ran out red faced.
Tell him all he wants and needs to know mate, if he can be open enought to ask, your doing well to be open back, make sure he is aware of the pitfalls of sex, pregancy, std's and angry parents etc.
It is not about giving them the green light, it is about making sure they know all the facts, kids will do what they want to do, so make it clear you don't want him to go te full hog and that he is better to wait til he is 16 before popping the cherry.

I hope you taught him the exhaust pipe trick, and the over the face and blow out trick. Their the main ones mate. Seriously, good parenting in my opinion. I think you should also tell him how woman work and how they are the devil. Seriosuly, if I had the knowledge on woman back then what I had now, there would be so many occasions were I wouldn't have looked a twat in front of them, and made to look the fool. My lads will have it drummed into them that woman are the devil.

Thanks for all the replies, at least I feel better about knowing I did the right thing, and not went too far.
He knows he can talk to me about anything tho which is good, I wasnt particularly happy when I found redtube in his favourites tho, but thats another story

I still say that the Internet and Mobile Phones are to blame for kids talking about stuff like this earlier.
They are able to talk more openly on MSN/Bebo/Text etc than they would face-to-face and SO many parents don't keep an eye on what their kids are doing online.
Luckily as far as parents go, I'm pretty switched on, so am usually one step ahead of Rosie.
Rosie's events of this week have included helping herself to our wine from the fridge. I know she is 14, but I don't agree and went apeshit. She has grown up SO SO much in the last 6 months and now we have a 16 year-old boyfriend sniffing round. I've got that little cunts number, I can tell you.

Kids are years off for me just now, but that is a fear of mine, having a girl, then her getting targeted by horny little 16 year old boys, ending up preggers, the boy fucking off, her having her life fucked up. Kids having sex is bad
