Best place for Tyres, also no more Eagle F1?
Need to get 2 new tyres for the back of the BMW, they are currently just directional tread ones, they are in 225/45/17's and I want the same size again.
Just searched www.mytyres.co.uk and they only have 4 options in this size!? One of them being a Goodyear Vector? Has this now replaced the Eagle F1?
Before when I bought tyres for the Sierra I bought 215/35/18's, Goodyear Eagle GDS3's for £98 a tyre! They now want £138 per tyre for these Vectors!? Not fucking paying that!
Any help appreciated as I need to order these ASAP!!!!
Cheers.

That's what I thought about the toyo's good price.
I have tried both of these tyres on different cars, wouldn't put F1's on a wheelbarrow now, the better assy goodyear are ace though, as was the deleted Eagle Ventura.

they say they are the cheapest avaliable and will refund the difference if you find them cheaper.
They can also send you to a local fitting centre thats signed up for fitting etc.

Camskill all day for that size as posted above.
If you can stand the price, then Bridgestone RE070 are streets ahead of anything else in that size (but careful in the wet), otherwise F1 Asymetric would be my choice

I was looking at those, are they that bad in the wet then? Baring in mind I'm ordering some tyres today and for the next 4 months our roads are shit and it's winter time!

Only other comment to be aware of is the sidewalls are tremendously stiff (part the reason they work so well) which doesn't do the ride comfort any favours, but the grip benefit far outweighs that, for me at least (they can have 10 psi pressure in them and you wont notice to look at them lol)

To be honest mate they are for my daily driver, BMW E36 328i coupe, 200bhp rwd, I don't go mental in the wet and fully expect them to last into the summer and beyond as a road tyre, is that feasable? lol
By the way, the BMW doesn't go anywhere near a track!

Yes but you dont drive it hard, you dont drive it fast! No trackdays etc.
You dont wear a set of sprint running shoes to walk down the shops.
Why buy a gucci tyre if you literally want it to last and get you from A-B.
Keep the money saved for something more worth while, like coming down here with Loader, my guided tours are ace!

True, but then if you can afford it, why not!?
I might go for the Goodyear Asymetric's then, or maybe just the F1 as I had NO problem with them on the Saph in the wet or dry!?

I've just had a puncture on mine It has F1s GSD3s on there at the moment but Blackcircles only list Assymetrics now in the size (215/45/17)
Assymetrics any good? What are Toyo Proxes T1-R like in comparison? Don't want anything less that my GSD3s were though tbh!

Hi Phil, how's tricks?
Assymetrics will generally be better than GSD3, individual vehicle dependencies aside, and certainly better than T1R's IMO
Can you squeeze a 225/45/17 on? that is a much commoner size so you will probably find better price as well as better choice
