Default thinking of building my own cosworth engine wiring loom

has any1 got any hints or tips for me?

dont say dont do it

im fairly competant and confident about doing it and i will be doing it in my mates workshop, (he fits alarms and audio so will be very helpful.)

any1 else tried doing it?

ive got 1/2 the bits already and a spare ecu plug so wont touch the std 1 fitted to the car.
i fancy having a go myself as being in a "kit" car i cant go and buy 1 that will fit straight on.
and i like doing my own stuff to my car

i rewired the whole car when i 1st built it, new dash, lights, fuse board and clifford alarm so ive done a little bit of electrics before.

but is there anything i need to know before i start?

cheers

Yea don't want to abuse but I would be interested in this too Maybe it would be a great idea to upload this to megaupload or something so it can help the community ?

I will upload all the wiring diagrams ive got and if i kept it i made a note of all the colours ford used in the loom and used all the same colours in mine. So it would make any fault finding later on much easier.

I cant help with cable lengths as mines not in a cossie.

When i pluged it in the car instantly ran better.
Would have cost a fortune having it made.
Well worth fitting new sensors at the same time.

when i done the loom for my ZT 3dr i bought one of ryans looms and cut and shut it suit, wasnt too hard really.

if i was doing it again tho i would use longer wires and try and run them throught the chassis rails etc where possible to keep as much wiring as possible hidden away to give a cleaner engine bay look.

but if you have the tools to do it, its really not that hard. obv overbraid looks better than tape, and use the propper rubber boots on the connectors etc to look good, also ident markers etc.

crimping is enough as there are to many vibrations on a engine and normally solder will makr the joint brital so prone to snapping
