Evos are generally a bit twichy in wet. But in your case it seems the tyres may have been the problem. I must admit I am a bit unable to explain why Evo's nature is so much changed in the wet compared to dry, it's completly different to Scoobs. Evos in snow or on gravel (on road tyres) are fun but very slow as you can't step on the throttle because of oversteer.
