2wd cosworth alternator help

Mate just swapped his 4x4 for this rwd, first trip didn't make it to mine lol.
Black wire off alternator fell off.
It had a blue, like female bullet connector on it.
I've removed this, fitted a ring, and bolted it to thread by red wire, recessed in plastic moulding.
Is charging and working as it should, but don't know these, and was dark; mainly pulled that this connector had nowhere to properly push onto, so assume was bodged?
Am sure I've reattached to where it should go, and as I said is charging correctly.
Is it just 2 wires on these?
2 coming out of loom, but alternator looked to have another broken connector, was dark so not 100%.
Cheers

Anyone?
Will look in some old ford haynes manuals, should be able to suss it.
Connector looked like it had been on for al ong time though, and only way I got it charging was pushing it on the thread, hardly a good fixing

On most you will just have your main lead from battery, then another 1 OR 2 terminals sticking out, one will be marked "IND" for indicator light, ie dash warning light.
The other if fitted is a 8 volt output wire taken from one phase so just ignore.

Dash light now works mate.
Would this work stuck on any earth point, or only on correct point on alternator?
Just want to put my mind at rest
Thank you.
