Weird associations with sound/smell/memory
I just heard an old fashioned kettle boiling on TV. And I swear to god I smelled gas, just for a moment. And it bought back memorys of being on a boat as a kid. Totally out of the blue. But the smell of a Gas hob was totally amazing! 
I'm in a hotel in Kent, and there ain't no gas in the room.......

Have a look on MAria's thread about cheering herself up (which these seem to have done no end )
