sky hd VS virgin

ive been itching to get some HD since i got my hd tv at the start of the year, now i was going to plain go for sky hd but with the costs involved and the fact that atm we seam to be loosing sky nearly everyday due to weather( i know they cannot control it but i still dont want it interfearing with what i watch) ive been looking at virgin.

as there v+ service is HALF the cost of the sky and consinder 99% of the channels we use are avalible on virgin were considing the change.

whats ppls opinions of virgin im guessing some ppl are on it ??

am i missing something that makes sky worth well over twice as much

I have got the v+ box 12 months now its brilliant.. sky is just a rip off..

Plus any virgin kit goes wrong they fix or replace it not like sky

Virgin - BBCHD is the only visible channel. Other HD stuff on demand. No Sky Movies/Sports/One on HD on Virgin. V+ is cool, can record 2 and watch a 3rd. Think its only 2 with Sky+

Sky HD - Cant comment as I have never had it.

If it's the HD you are wanting it for then it has to be Sky. Virgin only had 1 HD channel (don't know if they've anymore yet)

Freesat is another option, They have more HD channels (I don't know how many) and they are just a one off payment with no subscription as far as I know.

ive got the v+ virgin hd box had telewest/ntl/virgin for 7 years now and apart from 2 outages which they reimbursed the month free ive never had a problem love the fact you can record 2 and watch a 3rd.

a few friends have sky and they always locking up and the most anoying thing is when searching the channel list you cant carry on watching / listening to what you were you get the stupid screen and stupid hold style music

orion_crazy_carl 10-09-2008 10:11 PM

virgin is the bollox, million times better then sky esp. with all the music on demand ect the + is pukka, sky are a bunch of arses to deal with, virgin always been perfect in 15 years of having them

have you got the ..THE BOX version ..or the normal version :?

if you get my drift

Adrian 10-09-2008 10:53 PM

HD Content is there, you just have to go into the on demand and select it. As an XL customer its free also.

Was watching Planet Earth the other afternoon in HD

Only thing that annoys is that I cant get Sky Sports in HD and Sky One.
