Default Anyone suffered a bad back?

I have done for quite a while but have ignored it , the last few weeks its been getting worse. Been to the doctors, and not long got back from the hospital after having X-rays.

Doctor said it sounds like it could be a slipped disc or a disc thats not seated properly

Anyone else with me on how fucking painful it is? I've had shingles before, about 5 years ago and that was painful, but I think this tops it

I surfer with a mild bad back...had me in tears a few times in the past, sort of live with it now (probably due to working in garages since 12)
A old workmate was on 30 tablets a day for his bad back, had a couple discs removed iirc.
Have you tried swimming at all? A specialist's recommended it to me.

I burst a fluid sack between my vertibrae when I was 20 on a motorbike that I was crap at riding. Still hurts now!

Apparently it'll get worse the older I get. Hopefully one day I'll get medical retirement out of it

oh dear

rest and recuperation is the only thing for it

but then you end up getting bed sores, which hurt just as bad

try sleeping on your knees and forearms, this curves the back just right to get rid of the pain for a short period of time, well, until yuo stand up again, the weight of your head pulls the back straighter as well

but don't do it for too long as it restricts your digestion and might give you some bottom blockages

Yup but the pain is managable most days, it's only recently that I've found that with the NHS, being pushy pays off. Do your research and then ask to be refered to whomever or whatever department or whatever specialist you need to see.
I've an appointment with a biomechanics specialist in a few weeks to find out specificaly where the back pain is coming from. It may be worthwhile you researcing Biomechanics.
Good luck.

Once had 6 weeks off work with a slipped disc, cor, can feel the pain now. Basically, I have always had a 'dodgy'back, anyway, fitted an exhaust to a motorbike and twinged me back. So had a warm bath thinking it would help.

A few hours later I was in total agony, lying in the lounge floor, I was like a beetle.

Wife phones ambo cos I am in proper pain, they cart me off to Hospital where I am given two morphine jabs (a few hours between em), does not seem to help so they kindly but me back on an ambulance and drop me off back home, leaving me still lying flat on my back.

I stayed on the floor for two days (hospital had kindly given the wife a supply of piss pots), until my physio chappie could call round. I paid him Ł30 and at least he managed to get me off the floor.

I feel your pain mate, my back is still knackered but I have to keep quiet at work about it, in case they take me off front line, seems they are worried about insurance claims etc etc.

Back pain is the bane of my life at the moment. Its causing me real problems and its got to the point my heavily pregnant wife has to get up off the sofa to help me out of my chair. Once im seated at work im stuck here without going through massive pain to get up.

Normally goes after a few days, but this time its serious.

Mine has been similar, I think with the extra work looking after my 12 week old Boy has made it worse and the lack of exersize.

we can book you in for any of the clinics from any number. just depends on when your free and when we can fit you in. slough is more flexible if you need an appointment quickly

I'm just getting through a bout of sciatic trouble now, spent 3 hours in A+E only to be told I had a pulled hamstring and that was causing the stabbing pain in my arse cheek and the ache in my back, couldn't walk for nearly three weeks
Got carried into a chiropractors clinic, got diagnosed as having a prolapsed disc and that was pressing on the sciatic nerve. Half and hour later and Ł50 lighter I walked out!!
If you get ANY grief with your back mate, get to an osteopath or a chiropractor ASAP, if your back goes tits up EVERYTHING else will fuck up too.

Hope you get it sorted

i use a chiropractor rather than an osteopath as the treatment seems quicker. i highly recommend henry at

Wokingham Chiropractic Centre

sorry to m3cosworth just giving my own personal opinion

Kiddan, I know you and was gonna recommend you. Its Ran from Geoffs workshop.

I suffer from lower back pain too and its largely due to posture and some family shit that goes way back i guess. Anyway most times I ride the pain out or go see my old uncle who does the osteopath stuff proper indian style and twists you up until you cry
