you are all correct, high charge temps didnt do the fords any favours.
best run i had was the first 11.9 at 110 mph.then it just got slower and slower as the temps went up.there wasnt much time available to race,i didnt get noise tested till 11.15 first run at 11.30.then it closed for lunch at 1pm,
re-opened at 1.45 .till 3.30.got 7 runs in ,and the que for handling was too long for me to wait.
still had lots of fun,and meet some great people.

Anyone seen the full set of results yet?
Well I went flying to Westfield/Ford flag Cossie Power flag.
I had a nightmare as I blew my diff on the Saturday evening scrubbing in some new tyres!!! Got a replacement (Cheers Martin and Austen) delivered Sat evening and then fitted it Sunday morning. 3 hours for old out, new in.
Managed to finally get out for some runs just after lunch.
I managed to get to the handling shootout final of the top 4 cars overall. Was just happy to get there so didnt do a mega lap as I did not want to get disqualified. I was up against Olly Clarke, Gavin Renshaw and Duncan Cowper so playing in the big boys leaugue! More than happy to just be in the same race as those more experienced and team backed guys. Managed to come 3rd, but more down to Duncan blowing the dax engine I think. WELL HAPPY OVERALL!!!!
Not seen my official 1/4 and KM times but defo did an 11.3 qtr and think I may have done a 11.01 on the last run.
My car was launching like a absolute beast on the day with new tyres and diff!!!! Anyone see any of them?
Did 3 standing KM runs which according to my speedo (which is pretty accurate) I was pushing late 150's to 160mph.
Overall really pleased as I think the car was down on power due to the serious hot day and heat soak......not forgetting the car was still up on axle stands at noon having a new diff fitted!
Big thanks to Drakey and Andy (my pit crew) for helping change to diff, and Martooon for supplying it. Also Austen Ward who picked it up in Birmingham and provided the few tools that I did not have to complete the job. Also Diva who helped make sure the car was all sorted and checked over for the finals.
Cheers and well happy with the results.

Amazing.
Amongst all the big money plastic fantastic jap stuff in the 1km category theres one immortal line ..."Ford Granada"
Bloody fantastic!
To think a big old barge like a grany would be competing with the big boys.
Does anyone know the car?

Stu- We are waiting on the FULL results, they should come soon, they better do anyhow as I need them to write the feature by the end of the week
You did fucking well mate Esp as you got no room for big cooling! Everyone was slower than should be due to charge temps, but fucking fast still
Was that your 888s in the skip? Idve had them! Rich tried climbing in the skip to get em for his Impreza, but the stench of shite overcame him and he failed
Stevie on here.
Supercharged LS V8.
Mental car.
Was fastest non-tuner top speed.
Fastest non-tuner on the quarter was Jeff in the RIPS built R34. First time he ever drove it too.
LOTS of mega impressive cars, way more impressive than just simply reading the results would have you think!
EDIT- Chris has beat me to it

Norris wasnt in the SWB, was in a normal Evo8.
Lee/Tib was fucking mega entertaining on the handling circuit Smoking the tyres up everywhere.
Fords on the whole was VERY impressive, fuck the times, nobody really sees them on the day anyhow, the Fords were impressive. Stuff like the mental red van fucking off WAY faster than it looked like it could, the Sitech Escort beating 4wd jap stuff, etc etc, was all very good.
Its not about winning, its about putting on a good show and having fun, and the ones there did. Jus wish more people thought like them

Well done m8 , car seemed to be really really flying on the handling circuit, Car was spitting flames off the start line b4 you lanched it!! I didnt see you do all that many runs either 3/4 perhaps ? With more time you may have been able to get to grips with the circuit even more ?

Was pleased with my results from sunday.. esp the 163.1 top speed as i ran OFF gas for that on std road tyres and didnt get grip till about 80mph so was only crossing the qtr line at 114mph on that run,
Was also pleased with the qtr time considering i've bent my beam slightly so the back wheels aren't quite straight and couldnt get under 2 sec 60ft.
No idea what my handling time was? only had std falken road tyres for that too as the r888's blistered and werent safe, had fun sliding half the course and not doing a sighting lap i had no idea where i was going lol, still had a laugh though.

Yes mate, we binned them at the end of the day as I could not be bothered to take them home. Still had plenty of track life left in them.
Although the new ones were way way more grippy as the diff found out on Saturday night!!!

Was a good day, considering i changed the turbo on the way there in a layby, mapped it in 10 miles, got there late, failed sound testing and couldn't finds any1 to test me. My first run was about 1 o'clock,
The shed did 8th in drag and 4th in my 1st attemp at handling.
I never managed a top speed run.

I was impressed by the efforts of Lloyd and Polly X. Well in for representing some blue oval.
As much as times got worse as the day went on due to ambient temps, it is the same for everyone so I dont see much point in complaining.
Great day, but poor show by the Ford lot (appart from those who ran).
JAmes.

but its a big difference being on your own as to being part of a big team.
ie you join a que on your own .and you have to keep stopping and restarting your car to move forward. in a team 3 or 4 peeps help push you to the line,= less heat soak.
somebody to spray a fire ex onto the intercooler before you run. ect ect ect.
i need a bigger intercooler,and water injection.and a race fuel map.

Can see Stus Westie being a massive threat next year at TOTB. sticking 200bhp of NOS up its ass from third gear onwards is gonna make it fly on the 1/4!
cant believe how fast you went with only one practice go!
