has any body done this and how hard was it to do
im guessing the top speed and acceleration would be improved??
done a search but nothing that explains the pros and cons

No it woul be a complete fooking fluke. Different cars have different boxes designed to make the best of the power and torque curve available. If you suddenly wang a box from another engine on will it have the same power and torque curve? Probably not
