Default Runaround car...1.9 gti?

Thinking of buying a runaround car as when im at home and Lindsay is at work shes got the Audi, so im left with the van. Getting a bit fed up running round in the van so wanting a runabout. It will do fook all miles really so im not spending daft money on something.

Going back to my youth i seem to be fancying a pug 205 gti 1.9 in miami blue! Decent choice? And will i get a good one nowadays?

You WILL end up on track and then your bank balance will suffer with track focused mods

TRUST me mate. I did exactly the same thing Those cut slicks are expensive and don't last too well

Good choice, i had a 1.6 205 GTi and thought it was a cracking wee motor.

Might be hard to find a decent now though.

I bought one a couple years back... '92 J-Plate 1.6GTi in Red.

It looked nice enough, inside and out, all usual checks were fine, drove ok.. but a bit flat, so thought it maybe needed a service. Paid the money that I'd bidded to, drove off and filled it with petrol and decided to double check the oil. Well, there wasn't any left. Filled it with oil and when I pulled out onto the Motorway and as soon as I put my foot down it was obvious that it had an allergy to oil..... ended up putting the best part of 10-12ltrs of oil in it on the way home from Preston.

Cheers,
Grant

mate bough a 1.9 gti for 800 notes about 6 months bacj, cracking car, all original, went like stink or atleast felt like it with it being so bean canish compared to cars today.

Still get them, look out for the more standard cars, will be a better buy IMO

I had the 1.9 309 GTi, not as pretty but cheaper and usually less boy racered
