Just wondering if anybody knows how long penalty points stay on your licence for.
Been told 3,4 and 5 years and everybody i speak to thinks they are the law!
I got three points in june 2005 and was hoping it was three years coz then they are off and thats good, but if not then gotta keep driving slowly officer.

4 for removal
5 for insurance

i got told they off ur licence after 3 years

but they can still bring it up if u go to court for something for wht ever reason

but after 5 years they cant even do that

as u can tell i got told quite a wile ago lol mates, mum works for the police but my memory like a siv so dont take it for gosbal

ive had more than my fair share and been banned in my younger days and it used to be they stay on for 4 years but only count in totting up for 3. i was banned for 4 years for no insurance and speeding and when i got my license back i got it back clean.there was different rules for different offences . some where 4 years from date of offence but some where 4 years from date of conviction but i cant remember exactly what was what as it was a few years ago now.
been points free for a few years now though.

i have had a tt99 ban thats the offence for table totting the adding of 12 or more points

Forgot to mention, DR10 (I think thats the code for drink drive) stays on for 10 years, removal after 12 iirc

Mine were removed after 4 years, FREE, just re register at a friends address, they take points off where expired, then re reg back!!
Yes done it more than once, does work.
