i have 2 beautifull kids who i only get to see once a fortnight at the moment and it is really getting me down, and i jusr keep finding out bad stuff about there mum (blokes round all the time, using them as weapons agaisnt me the list goes on) and to be honest they are not having a good upbringing with her although i do my best with the time i have them i have been seriously thinking off going for sole custody and were just wondering if any one on here (blokes especially) have tryed for it and got any advice thanks cos it is even at the stage were they don't want to go home

Me and u both mate, i have been through 4 years of hell with my ex about my lil boy. My ex just keeps stopping my access for no reason whatsoever. I actually mentioned having him full custody to my solicitor, tbh she told me in extreme cases it does happen. Where drink, drugs, physical and mental abuse and general neglect is concerned is a dead cert you will get custody. But in my case just because she is a bitch and doesnt want me to be my boys dad isnt a good enough reason!! There has to be rock hard proof she is unfit to look after your kids mate, be it medical/criminal records or witnesses.

Its a long, emotionally drawn out situation mate, i pity anyone who is in our situations wether we see our kids or not.

when we first split she stopped me seeing them for 3 months i do have some proof although there no drink or drugs there are some weird men goin round which worrys me one lad in particular has turned up at 2 in morning banging on door shouting screaming tryin to start with neighbours all they upstairs listenig and scared but she says they don't hear it but they do cos they told me

TBH mate i would take this all up with a solicitor, mine gave me a free hour to state my case and she basically told me which way is best to tackle my situation and which approach is best.

It isnt going to be cheap if your working and earn over the minimum wage. My solicitor told me the average case is around Ł3k. She has one case which is ongoing now and it has reached Ł12k!! But its your kids and imo all the money in the world is worth them.....

i off for 2 weeks soon so will go down then i all ready thought about the money situation and will sell the cossy if needs be as kids more important and thjanks for the advice mate

Being a father and in a happy marriage i'm curios to know,were your ex's always evil bitches or did they become one as soon as the relationship was over?I'm sure you were in my position at one time and dread the thought of ever going through this.

we were ok yeah it all started after we had a amicable split she was civil with for ages then i met some one else months later and she just turned into a cow for 3 months things are sort of ok between us now and i do have kids every other weekend but i just cocerned aboyt the stuff i put above cos if i say anytrhing to her she will just try and stop me having them

In my case no not at all mate.
Here's a lil background...
We broke up when she was still pregnant due to her infidelity. She stopped hairdressing when she found out, not my desicion and not the right thing to do. I had to take on extra shifts to cover bills and to be prepared for our baby, she befriended a guy who bedded her behind my back. Her excuse was that i wasnt there for her. Instead i was at work earning to make our lives better

And now....
She is jealous. 4 years on and i have picked myself up and got on with life. I have a better paid job, a nice GF whom i met 3 years ago, she has a good job also. I now have a nice house, 2 cars and a better standard of life now. Meanwhile she met a no-hoper who cant hold down jobs, she has had 2 more kids, hardly any income and rented accomodation in a run-down area.

I have had the drive and ambition to try and do well with my life where-as she seems to be stuck in a rut.....

Judging by the replies it all comes down to the missus cheating.I suppose if the man cheats then you deserve all you get ,but when it,s the woman doing the cheating and she get,s to keep the kids then the guy get fuc*ed over twice.
Just a shame that the kids get caught in the middle .

Havent read the whole post, but when I went through court to SEE my lad, they only had refused one application, whereby the dad held the baby over a balcony by its foot.
