Was this the fella who was in a bit of a fight, heard a couple of people mouthing off about it but was tucked up in bed and it all seemed to be essentially over by then anyway and was just bickering, so I didnt bother looking who it was.
Shame, literally the only hint of any trouble I saw or heard the whole time, most of our lot slept through it anyway though.

Nothing to do with the few drunken fallings out - happens when people drink to much lol....
It was about an audi A4.
Like i said people will know and should come forward with some names.

maybe your adding 2+2 and making about 265, not even close
I believe a couple of people seen the accident , and got some details, which have been passed onto both the guy with the Audi, and the events organisers

Car we think was a audi a3 in silver or a light metallic colour.
They were driving early morning pissed up and damaged another car, then left.
People there 100% know who it was but wouldn't say anything hence the simplicity of my post.
Its going to cost our club a lot if this happens....
As in no show next year......its that serious.

croft does have cctv and the person will be found
a black 3 dr and a white mk 2 escort were with this person but just played dumb in the morning when i went over with the police
not good being woken at 5 am to be told the police were here
camping is always a problm as many people just can not behave
its a real shame cos it could spoil it for everyone
one thing for sure if we have camping next year it will be only rsoc members allowed full stop,
a sad thing to have to do but at least we then know who people are

Right, this is the story before the incident just as someone may be able to give more information should they know this.
Security contacted Scott and Dave late on Saturday night and said that a group of lads who had camped round the other side of Croft circuit (near the Chicane and Tower straight) had started a fire and could they go round and sort it out.
Scott then went off with Dave, Barry and a few others to see what was up. There was a group of Local (i.e. from the North East) lads who had started a fire, we have in previous years had similar problems with the same bunch of people as both Scott and Dave recognised them. They were asked to extinguish the fire which I'm told they did under a bit of protest, however, that seemed to be the end of it. We were then woken up very early on Sunday morning by a phone call from Dave saying that the police were here as a car had been damaged.
Two cars had been seen in the main car camp site situated next to the local group stands. As the cars drove away one had hit a parked car which as you all know is the car which belongs to a Derby group member. The cars drove off the one being involved in the accident left the site.
The lads who had started the fire had 3 cars with them, one was a black 3dr, another was a MkII and the third was a silver car. The witnesses managed to get part of the registration numbers of the two cars which came up to the site.
When the lads who had started the fire were visited again, there were only 2 cars there and one of the cars registration numbers matched the one given by the witness. So it can be safely concluded that they were involved.
I really hope that someone comes forward and identifies both the car and the driver so that this matter can be sorted out properly.
In the last 6 years that we have used Croft circuit for our show we have never had an incident like this happen. Why people think that it is OK to do things like this is beyond me. What happens to people when they are drunk that they actually think it's acceptable to go and drive their cars around a packed camp site at around 5am while people are sleeping??
I was told that the lads who had came up to the camp site were visiting some people from the West Scotland Group. I was also told that the West Scotland group had provided the part number plate descriptions to the police. Good job someone from their group was still up at that time in the morning otherwise we wouldn't have that information.
If we can still hold the show next year at Croft following this incident then unfortunately we will just have to get tougher on camping rules etc and possibly only let pre-paid, pre-booked people on local group and track entrants camp. Drunken arguements you can kind of expect with such a large group of people, but behaviour like this is totally and absolutely unacceptable.

Shame it would have to resort to this but can definatly see your point. It could of easily been a lot worse with the car plowing into a tent and not another car... it doesnt bear thinking about.
