Edit - I did pass on the spec... stage 3 stuff with low comp (initially set up on a engine dyno - then increments to 500bhp).
Did not think 0.3 cr would have made huge difference but was wondering as 7dbtc was very low - hence the origianl question.

You wouldn't map the car to run at 7 degrees, you'd have that in the higher load areas just incase you overboosted. It's a safety thing.. As per Mitsy, I ignored the absolute comment, as the figures are more suited to relative pressure.

As a base map to make the car start and run it looks perfectly good and lets face it, Ahmed is great at mapping so its unlikely to be anything other than what you asked for.
However, It would be dangerous to assume anything at all purely from the information you have given due to the immense number of additional maps present in the Pectel T series ECU's that can add or subtract from that map. For interest, i will try and BTTT a topic i did once all about such things...

I know that it is only a base map.
Just wanted to get thoughts from the pro's on it.
When i start tweaking it live just wanted to get an idea from you guys what to expect. I am going to be pretty worried about det which is why I wanted to get running on spare engine.

Thanks for the input Stu.
However, the T2 map that I have for ignition has only the above map and ACT (where 40 deg is zero) and Water temp adders (where above 50 deg is zero)
Nothing else to effect ignition.

By the time you have heard det you are too late.
My hack take on how i will blow up my spare engine...............
Take a base map.
Adjust fuel map for desired lambda.
Then adjust ignition timing for best torque.
The adjust fuel map to for the timing changes just made.
The adjust timing for best torque.
Repeat ad nausem and hope that the correctors that AB has already done a pretty close. The do seem to make sense with the physics.

Just spoken to Ahmed and he has advised me that he supplied this map as being for an absolutely bog standard car with no mods apart from 803 injectors and 3 bar MAP sensor with a designed peak boost of 1.5 bar .
It is in no way shape or form designed for anything else other than the above.

Didnt you have MSD ignition system on the car and was it dyno'd with it,
I never let a car run hard if it has been mapped on the dyno unless I have live mapped it.

In all fairness though on a big power engine that's relatively on the edge, a nasty crack of det at 7500rpm can be enough to lose a piston without you even hearing it... but there'd have to be something seriously wrong with the spec or map for that to happen (or a failure, like a MAP sensor going).

Is it just me or are you all barking up the wrong tree ?
There is just 1 piston that has failed right ? well if it was the ignition map would not all 4 look the same ??? .
Now if the fuel injector was not flowing right would that not also cause the problem??
Puddy am i also right in saying you specked the engine had all the machine work done and built it yours self and gave it to Harvey to set up on his dyno for you ?
If this is the case and you have done 1000 miles on the engine then what are you pointing the finger at Harvey?

AB is horrible at returning correspondance (i.e. non-existant - but perhaps i have overstayed my welcome).

injector that is the problem.
As has been already said,it behaved perfectly on the road and I will be checking the fuel
system thoroughly when its back up and running.
I am not blaming harvey, but my 1 st thought was too much ignition as all the ring lands are
crushed, thus pinching the rings and burning the side of the piston.
I do use a digital 6 msd ignition on my car,but this can only be used to retard ignition ,such
as for nitrous applications.
Cheers for the positive thoughts, this ain't a witch hunt and I would happily use harvey and
ahmed again, but as mr shead says, with a full live mapping session afterwards.
