It amazes me!! we wait years for a proper driver to get the chance in a good car...then when he does people slate him and start supporting some boring cunt scandinavian with as much personality as lampshade!
I'd be shocked if he never became a double or triple world champ!

agreed, he's not really over rated but others are under rated, i.e. robert kubica! if he was in a ferrari or mclaren i think a different story would be unfolding in 2008 F1. Although he's smashing it now in the BMW....

Don't like Kimi one bit though, or Massa.....or any1 called Schumacher or Alonso.
I do like Kubica, Hamilton, Coulthard, Button ( how he is still in the sport i'll never know, only does about 6 laps a season ) and plenty of others.

i agree that there are other talented drivers who'd do well in a better car, but that's the case in any sport, especially F1...always has been.

are you talking about button in the brackets? lol. if so then i have to agree with you again..... haha i always ask the same question, same with Sato but he's gone now.

Coultard IMO is over rated, ok so he has gotta be good to still be doing the job, but he has had the top cars in his prime and didnt exactly shine.
At least Hamilton has won a couple of races, how long did it take Button to win an argument let alone a race
Hamilton needs an older head next to him, someone with abit more experiance to bring the car along, Alonso was ok for that last year but this year he's got a kid as a teammate.

100% agreee
at the moment he is amking school boy errors and imo so are the team.
but when he is driving he is just awsome but free air in front of him and he regulary jumps form doing off laps to fastest laps
on topic thou
hamilton was basically dripping because when he got given his drive thou last week it wook 15 fuckin laps to decided to do it !!!!
this put him right on his pit for fuel band and also he had made up 4 places that droped him right to the back (bar one iirc)
how can it take nearly 20mins to say yes he needs to give the place back
if it had happend on that lap (like it normally does) then he would have given it back and then taken it back within a lap or 2 and i feel he would have been in the points.

the media hype around lewis is that we all "expect" big resluts
so he tries extra hard to give us these resluts
and by trying extra hard, he fucks shit up sometimes
which leads to him being a bit of a twit in the car
and so his driving doesn't necessarily suffer, but his position in the grid does
overall i do agree that the pressure has got to him to some extent, last year no one exepecte him to do well so it was a surprise, this eyar everyone is looking for him to be totally dominant and he's not, he's made some truely spectaular schoolboy errors (trying too hard in the last race and not giving the place back is something he should have done regardless of his team not telling him, and obviuosly kimi the race before that) so he needs to clear his head and think about driving against everyone else, at the moment he's only pushing himself beyond his limits which is why, i think, he's not done as well as he potentially could
he's got, arguably, the best car on the grid but his team don't really work that well, and for all their money and experience, i'm fairly shocked that they have handled themselves, as a team, in such a piss poor manner not only this season, but last as well

As a British driver you would of thought the media would be behind him, supporting him, not ready to throw him on a crucifix whenever they can. No wonder people that are good in their game fuck off abroad!

mate it's the same with anything that the press get involved with. look at the last rugby world cup. when we were winning the press loved it. when we lost they wanted someone lynched. it's the same thing in football so why should it be any different with Lewis in F1? personally i think he's got the potential to be one of the greatest F1 drivers there has ever been. maybe even better than the late great Juan Manuel Fangio. he just needs time to mature and gain more experience.

i think he has amazing talent other wise he wouldn't have been groomed by mcclaren for years while he was karting and so on but he gets silly when pressure is put on him he pushes to hard when he doesn't need to and makes mistakes he just needs to calm down and think more when hes in trouble!

In all fairness I think Coulthard is a good driver, not exceptional nor a consistent podium stander but he has more experience than most of the other drivers on the grid. He just doesn't have the same talent or a front runner car to make him look better than what he is like some others
I don't think any driver on the grid would be there if they weren't up to the job

dont think its a colour issue mate.tbh i dont like amir, but i like hamilton.
i think hamilton has alot of talent and will be very succesful but needs to chill a bit, needs a bit more maturity and experience.but thats what comes from doing it for a few years.everyone makes bad decisions, statements, moves and you learn form them.
as for him being shit?no chance. and im a ferrari fan,but recognise a good driver.if anyone deserves slating it is alonso for his attitude and the way he has conducted himself.

I tell you why he isn't that popular, because he's an arrogant cunt.
He needs to try shutting his trap and concentrating on the driving a bit more.
He's made two school boy errors recently, both of which the team would have been on the radio to him about and both times he thought he knew better, one good season doesn't make him the legend he (and ITV ) seem to think he is, everyone needs to stop sucking his cock and let his results do the talking.

To answer Dojjs original question. (in 1 sentance ) Poor little Lewis didnt like the media saying he was a dipshit for crashing into Kimi. Compounded by the face he said "It happened but its not my fault!" Also said something similar last year after HE overcooked the pitlane on knackered tyres *
TBH, hes done what Jenson (whatever happened to him after he left F1) did. got caught up in the Pharrel Williams, bird from Pussycat dolls, bling bling bullshit. I dont buy into the fact he destroyed Alonso last year. Ron saying "they" were racing Alonso is kind of telling! But ITV and others seem to believe LH shit dont stink. And it does. He could of been fine if hed just let Vettel back in France but figured why should he.
Im told that even various McLaren employees (non senior) have told him to wind his neck in, and to stop walking round like he owns the place! Heard a reasonably likely story that on the various events the drivers attend, Heikki is by far the more liked whilst a large percentage of employees actually avoid Hamilton.
* MotoGP followers will of heard Valentino Rossi APOLOGISE yesterday for knocking someone else off. So if 7 time World Champions arent afraid of a little Humilty...

I don't think he'l get that chance again soon, so we'll probably see him go down hill.
