Predictions on price of IPhone 3G on PAYG?
The keynote states $199 globally for the price of the new phone, however, in the UK that is with an 18 month contract (where apple get some of the monthly fees).
In Italy where it is going to be released, its gonna be £395 for the 8GB and £450 for the 16GB version.
If I do get it, my only option is PAYG and use my T-Mobile contract (i'm only 6 months through) on it.
Other people have suggested it may be £200, which would be nice, but as phones like the N95 are £380 on PAYG and thats been out yonks, I can't see it happening.
Anyone got any thoughts?

I have a first gen iPhone and am still deciding whether or not it is worth the upgrade just for GPS basically!

Strange, nothing on the o2 website.
iPhone 3G is coming soon for Pay & Go
Customers will soon be able to enjoy all the great features of iPhone 3G without a monthly contract with the iPhone 3G for Pay & Go.
Just register your interest opposite and we'll drop you a line in early July to tell you what you need to do to be one of the first to get your hands on the new iPhone 3G.
More information on the new iPhone 3G will be available shortly so come back in a few days or visit www.apple.com

Looks like nobody knows for certain.
We had an email today from a source that tells us that the PAYG iPhone on O2 will cost somewhere between £200 - £269
I’ve got a friend who is a manager of an 02 store and he has told me that you will have to pay a “little” more for the iPhone on pay as you go, it will be in the £200 region (£100 is roughly the price is for Pay Monthly) but less than £269 (how much the iPhone was priced last year). If you do not believe me, then all I can do is assure you that when 02 announces this, my facts will be correct.
Until O2 announces the PAYG options, then please keep this in the rumor category, but thanks to Arjun for the heads up.
