Indeed, and I havent said otherwise, ive just said that wether a seasoned block was fine on 350bhp is of little relevance to if they are fine on 700bhp, in an attempt to stop potentially thousands of people all replying to tell martin something he already knows

10K+ Poster!!
I have alot of info of the failures on mine but need a few days to check whats ok to post as what I say might not make any sense unless I clarify it.
Mine was 2 years old with a 0.5 bore and cracked the thinnest bore, power was 550 bhp at our estimate and dont think power alone broke it but dont like to "guess".
Certain repairs have now been made on my block but I cant detail these at the moment.

would be nice if cosworth recast some blocks with something descent instead of alloy lol wonder if the stuff they used on the wrc focus block would make much of a difference

i cracked my 205 block on std boresize running pants stg 3 power
cracked 2 of the 4 bores straight down the bores..... changed two head gaskets before even realizing lol.... gutted an understatement
and for the record chip i also heard that the "turkey" blocks .... were cast from a substandard material hence the weakness .. bt i also think that maybe its just a mixture of that and or possibly the way the head bolts distribute the force across the block aswell, as there are bound to be hot spots on the block itself in certain areas causing weakness and crack failures??????
just a guess but ive seen a few 205 blocks doing the bore crack aswell ... also on a different note ive always wondered wether the 4wd offset gudgeon has any effect on this as it seems its on mainly 4wd blocks >>
would be nice to have a definate answer on this though

Mine was purchased late 2005 from Graham Goode and it looks as if its one of these Turkish Blocks as it does have the code ending 99 just above the breather pipe as described.
At present, I am peaking 30psi. Should I consider reducing the boost or should it still be ok with this ?
Cometic WRC head gasket
ARP stud & nut kit (not Long studded)
Standard bore / bottom end etc
I had hoped to increase power to 500bhp at some point and was just going to long stud the block : (...
